Left-handed opening batsman Usman Khawaja, speaking at an event in Melbourne, stated that Pakistan’s cricket team has immense talent. However, from an outsider’s perspective, everything in the Pakistan cricket team keeps changing – from selection committees to selectors, staff, and players.

Khawaja emphasized that such instability makes it challenging because stability is crucial. When there’s no stability, it becomes difficult for players to perform consistently, which is why he rarely sees stability in the Pakistan cricket team.

Responding to a question about Babar Azam’s captaincy, Khawaja said that captaincy is Babar Azam’s decision. If he can handle it, he should. He understands that there are high expectations in Pakistan, but cricket is unpredictable. Winning a World Cup is something only one team can achieve. If you don’t win it and end up second, it’s like playing the Super 8 stage.

Khawaja also mentioned that in the World Cup, Glenn Maxwell helped us win twice. This time, against Afghanistan, Glenn Maxwell’s catch was good. Afghanistan’s fielding was very good against Australia.
