Mohammad Hasnain Triumphs in Asian U21 Snooker Championship

In a gripping final held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Hasnain from Pakistan triumphed over his compatriot Ahsan Ramzan with a 4-3 victory to secure the title at the Asian U21 Snooker Championship. Ramzan, who was the reigning champion after his victory in Iran the previous year, put up a formidable fight but ultimately could not defend his title.

Hasnain’s journey to the final was marked by impressive performances, including a decisive 4-1 win against Hong Kong’s Shawn Lee in the semi-finals. This match, conducted in a best-of-seven frames format, saw Hasnain dominating with frame scores of 54-64, 21-59, 61-15, 10-86, and 35-63. Prior to this, Hasnain also edged out India’s Ranveer Duggal with a narrow 4-3 victory in the quarter-finals.

Throughout the group stages, Hasnain maintained an unbeaten record, showcasing his skill and consistency. Ramzan, on the other hand, also remained undefeated until the final showdown, underscoring the high level of competition between the two Pakistani players.

The excitement for Pakistan didn’t end there. Awais Munir, another Pakistani player, is set to compete in the final of the Asian 6-Red Snooker Championship against Hong Kong China’s Nansen Wan. Munir’s path to the final was highlighted by a come-from-behind victory in the semi-finals, where he defeated fellow Pakistani Asjad Iqbal 5-2 after initially trailing 0-2, winning five consecutive frames to clinch his spot in the final.

These remarkable performances by Pakistani players have significantly boosted the country’s standing in the snooker world, demonstrating their growing prowess and competitiveness on the international stage.
