Ramiz Raja strongly criticized Pakistan team performance in T20 WC

Ramiz Raja strongly criticised the Pakistan cricket team’s performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, highlighting several key issues that led to their early elimination from the tournament. In his YouTube video, Raja emphasized the team’s poor start and end to the tournament, suggesting that reliance on other teams’ results and external factors like weather conditions is not a strategy for success.

Raja singled out Naseem Shah for his commendable performance both as a bowler and a batter, particularly noting his contributions against India. However, he lamented the overall team selection and performance, criticizing the inclusion of players who did not justify their spots and the lack of strong leadership within the team.

He further discussed the tactical errors in their matches against the USA, India, and Canada. In the match against the USA, he pointed out numerous mistakes. Against India, Pakistan’s inability to score even 100 runs was a major letdown, and in the game against Canada, the team failed to capitalize on a favorable situation, despite the expectations from the crowd.

Raja concluded that without decisions based on merit and sound cricketing sense, the team cannot hope to improve. He condemned the practice of selecting “sacrificial lambs” to cover for poor decision-making and stressed the need for a fundamental change in how the team is managed and selected.
