Pakistani Mountaineer Anum Uzair Conquers Broad Peak

In a remarkable achievement, Anum Uzair from Lahore has successfully summited Broad Peak, the 12th highest mountain in the world, standing at an elevation of 8,051 meters in the Karakoram range of Pakistan. This accomplishment marks her as the second Pakistani woman to reach the summit of Broad Peak, following in the footsteps of Naila Kiani.

Anum’s success on Broad Peak is her second notable 8,000-meter climb, having previously conquered Manaslu Peak in Nepal. This ascent further cements her status as one of Pakistan’s leading female mountaineers.

Alongside Anum, American-Pakistani climber Ammar Butt also reached the summit. The expedition was conducted under the guidance of renowned climber Shahroze Kashif. High-altitude porters Ali Akbar and Ali Hoshi provided crucial support, helping the team achieve their goal.

The climbers reached the summit at 11:30 AM on Saturday, adding their names to the list of those who have successfully conquered this challenging peak. Broad Peak, located approximately five miles from K2, presents significant challenges due to its height and harsh conditions, making this achievement all the more impressive.
