Nasir Iqbal Advances to Final of Bega Open Squash

Karachi’s squash star, Nasir Iqbal, has secured his spot in the final of the Bega Open Squash tournament, taking place in New South Wales, Australia. On Saturday, Nasir demonstrated his remarkable talent and determination by defeating Switzerland’s Robin Gadola in a challenging semi-final match.

The encounter began with Nasir taking the first game. However, Gadola responded strongly, winning the second game and leveling the match. Nasir, undeterred by the setback, displayed exceptional control and skill, clinching the next two games decisively. The final scores were 6-11, 11-4, 2-11, and 3-11, showcasing Nasir’s dominance.

This victory continues Nasir’s impressive run this year, during which he has steadily risen in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) rankings. The Pakistani ace has been in top form, having already won three tournaments in Australia this season. With a career tally of 16 PSA titles, Nasir is eager to add another championship to his name.

As he prepares for the Bega Open final, Nasir is set to face off against Hong Kong’s Matthew Lai, the tournament’s second seed. With a prize fund of $12,000 at stake, Nasir aims to continue his winning streak and further solidify his status as a leading player on the international squash circuit.
