Exciting lineup announced for KFC BBL|14 Season

Cricket enthusiasts can look forward to an electrifying season of the KFC Big Bash League (BBL) as the schedule for BBL|14 has been unveiled, promising an action-packed, family-friendly series of matches.

This year’s competition, featuring a streamlined 44-game format, is designed to maximize excitement and accessibility for fans. Here’s what to expect:

Highlights of the Schedule:

Fans can enjoy uninterrupted BBL action every evening, complete with six major double headers.

Each team will host high-profile matches in their respective home cities.

The full season, including finals, will wrap up within the school holiday period.

With a larger window in January, there’s a higher chance of Australian Test players participating in the BBL.

Matches will be broadcasted across The Seven Network, 7plus, FOX SPORTS, and Kayo Sports, making it easier than ever for fans to catch the games.

The season kicks off on Sunday, December 15, at Optus Stadium with the Perth Scorchers taking on the Melbourne Stars.

Fourteen BBL matches will follow the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, enhancing the cricketing experience.

All teams will host a home game within the first eight days, featuring the much-anticipated Sydney Smash on December 21 between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers.

Sydney and Perth will host the double-header on December 26, with the Sixers facing the Stars at the SCG and the Scorchers battling the Brisbane Heat at Optus Stadium.

New Year’s Eve will see the Adelaide Strikers play the Scorchers at Adelaide Oval, followed by a New Year’s Day double-header with the Hurricanes against the Sixers in Hobart and the Heat versus the Stars in Brisbane.

Matches will also be held in unique locations like GMHBA Stadium in Geelong, C.ex Coffs International Stadium in Coffs Harbour, and Manuka Oval in Canberra.

The regular season will conclude with each team playing their tenth match within the last three days. Key matchups include the Sydney Smash at the SCG on January 17 and the Stars versus the Hurricanes on January 19.

The finals series will begin on Tuesday, January 21, and will culminate in the grand finale on Monday, January 27, a national public holiday. Venues for the finals will be decided based on the regular season standings and the outcomes of the finals matches.

Under Cricket Australia’s new media rights agreement with Foxtel Group and Seven West Media, the BBL|14 will be more accessible than ever:

Every match will be available, with exclusive features like ad-free viewing during play and stunning 4K UHD visuals.

Thirty regular season matches and all four finals will be broadcast live, with streaming available on the 7plus platform for the first time.

Cricket Australia’s General Manager of Big Bash Leagues, highlighted the excitement of the schedule and the anticipated return of Australian Test players in January.
