Shahzad and Bin Yousuf leads Shaheens to victory

The Pakistan Shaheens asserted their dominance over Bangladesh ‘A’ on the third day of their four-day encounter. Khurram Shahzad’s exceptional bowling performance and Omair Bin Yousuf’s stellar batting display put the Shaheens in a commanding position.

The Shaheens declared their second innings at 226-3, setting an imposing 428-run target for Bangladesh ‘A’ with just one day remaining. The Tigers ended the day at 20 without loss.

Resuming their innings at 203-4, Bangladesh ‘A’ faced a formidable challenge as Shahadat Hossain Dipu and Hasan Murad took the crease. Despite their efforts, Khurram Shahzad’s brilliant bowling restricted them to 266, as he claimed six wickets for 72 runs. Mohammad Ali supported with two wickets, leaving Bangladesh struggling to keep pace.

With a substantial lead of 201 runs, Pakistan began their second innings. The start was shaky, with Haseebullah dismissed for a duck and captain Sahibzada Farhan contributing only eight runs. However, Omair Bin Yousuf and Mubasir Khan’s remarkable 177-run partnership for the third wicket restored the Shaheens’ dominance. Mubasir narrowly missed a century, falling at 95 with nine boundaries. Omair remained unbeaten on 100, featuring six fours and two sixes, prompting the Shaheens to declare their innings.

On day two, Pakistan resumed at 375-2, with Mohammad Huraira and Kamran Ghulam at the crease. The duo added 92 runs before declaring at 467-3. Huraira’s outstanding 218 off 247 balls included 28 fours and one six, while Ghulam’s 100 off 161 balls was punctuated by 13 boundaries.

Bangladesh ‘A’ started their first innings strongly, reaching 203-4 by the end of day two. Despite losing two early wickets, Shadman Islam Anik and Aich Mollah’s resilient 153-run partnership steadied the innings. Shadman scored 88 before falling to Shahnawaz Dahani, while Mollah added 70 runs to the tally.
