Pakistan eliminated from T20 WC 2024

Pakistan has been eliminated from the T20 World Cup due to a match between the USA and Ireland being washed out.

In a surprising turn of events, Pakistan has been eliminated from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 during the group stage, a first in their history. The decisive blow came when the fixture between the USA and Ireland was washed out due to a wet outfield at Central Broward Regional Park, resulting in the USA advancing to the Super 8s for the first time.

Pakistan’s campaign began with a shocking Super Over defeat to the USA, followed by a narrow six-run loss to arch-rivals India. Although they managed to secure a win against Canada, it was not enough to keep their hopes alive, as the USA’s washout match ensured their progression with five points from four matches. Pakistan, even with a potential victory over Ireland in their final match on June 16, could only reach a maximum of four points, leading to their early exit. Ireland also failed to progress, being eliminated alongside Pakistan.

India, on the other hand, have confidently secured their place in the Super 8s, remaining unbeaten in the group stage so far.
